On the 27th of August, 2006 we had Hippie's Memorial Run, a fallen brother. We gathered at Mike's Pub for the start. Our first stop was the Horse & Crown down in Spring Hill where a number of other riders joined us. After a salute to Hippie we headed out to our next stop, Sleepy Hollow in the backwoods of Floral City. There we held another salute to Hippie and sat around listening to the band and a few had a bite to eat. From Sleepy Hollow we rode up to Inverness to Casey's Pub and after a while we walked next door to Sgt's Place. Our next stop was the Sand Hill Saloon in Lecanto. We packed in for another salute and good conversations with our friends. From there we headed back to Mike's Pub for more food and music, after all, all that riding makes a guy hungry and thirsty.
Here are a few pictures of our ride.

Pulling out of Mike's Pub for the start of our Memorial Run for Hippie
We had a little help with traffic from Mike with his Big Red
Here we come down US19 headed to the Horse & Crown.
It didn't take us long to fill up the parking lot and get inside were it was nice and cool. So far it had been really nice and getting warmer.
Inside the Horse & Crown we held a salute to Hippie.
Here we picked up a few more riders.
From the Horse & Crown we used a few of the back roads through Hernando and Citrus County that makes for some very nice riding going to Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow always makes for a good stop for a run, sitting under those big oak trees and listening to the band and if you are hungry they serve some pretty good BBQ.
That trailer you see off to the right has it's side cut out and serves as the stage for the band.
The shade of the big oak trees and a breeze made it nice and comfortable outside.
They have more than enough places to sit and relax.
And if you found it too hot outside you could go inside where the A/C is pumping away.
From Sleepy Hollow we headed north on SR41 to Casey's Pub on the southern end of Inverness.
Inside we had a great time BSing and holding a salute to Hippie.
From Casey's Pub we walked a couple of doors down to Sgt's Place for another salute to Hippie. Each of our stops were watering holes that Hippie liked to stop at. We also lit a candle at each stop on top of Hippie's favorite brew.
From Sgt's Place we headed west to the Sand Hill Saloon in Lecanto.
The Sand Hill Saloon is a nice quite watering hole, that is when a run of 40+ bikers isn't there to livin' the place up.
From the Sand Hill Saloon we headed to Mike's Pub back in Homosassa Springs where Mary (inside) and PJ (outside) were waiting to serve us.
Out back PJ was taking care of the outside bar while everybody listened to the band and ate.
Everybody had a great time. Leo did, you can see a little smile there but I think she is still remembering back when I smacked her on the butt kind of hard.
Here's to you Hippie, even if they do have your name spelled wrong on PJ's hat.

If you missed missed the run, that's your fault, you didn't keep checking the Party Page or the Calendar Page of Rider Friendly Magazine.
